FRIENDS OF FINE ARTS at Jacksonville University: The Friends of Fine Arts is a support organization for the College of Fine Arts at Jacksonville University. Members are those who share a common desire to promote the arts in their lives, as well as, the community at large. Annual membership and other contributions to the Friends of Fine Arts are enhancement funds used to promote dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Please become a member and enrich your life and the community with the arts. Your membership gives you season passes to the College of Fine Arts Performance Series, as well as four exclusive Friends of Fine Arts events. After a medieval feast, in the Fine Arts Hall with an informal presentation by ProfessorAllison Steadman, join us for a special performance of this award winning play. A 1988 comedic play by Ann-Marie MacDonald in which Constance Ledbelly, a young English literature professor from Queen's University, goes on a subconscious journey of self-discovery. Constance theorizes that Shakespeare's tragedies, Othello and Romeo and Juliet, were originally comedies, and believes the ideas for the plays originate from the indecipherable Gustav Manuscript. In a moment of despair, Constance is thrown into both her subconscious mind and the two Shakespearian tragedies to discover the truth about herself. |
