What’s new in the Master of Science in Health Informatics program?

The Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences began offering an online Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) in September 2015, in collaboration with Bisk. 

Next JU Ground Based Cohort Program offered Fall 2017!

Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI):  
The MSHI program is offered via an online format and cohort/JU Ground Based format. The MSHI degree includes 11 courses (33 graduate credit hours), including an internship or research work project experience.  NO GRE required! View the MSHI Admissions and Curriculum.

The Application Deadline for the Fall 2017 Cohort is June 30, 2017.
 
Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Data Analytics
BRCHS offers a 4 course (12 credit hours) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Data Analytics program to meet industry and community partner educational needs.
  • This certificate prepares individuals to access, manage, analyze, and interpret healthcare data.
  • This information is essential for healthcare organizations and industries to strategically develop safe, cost-efficient, high quality patient care.
  • This certificate can be a stand-alone post-baccalaureate certificate or obtained as an additional certificate within the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program.
  • The certificate program is designed as a ground-based cohort.

Need to hire Health Informatics Specialists???

Would your organization like to be a host site for our MSHI interns?  This 8-week internship will be the MSHI student’s capstone experience and includes 160 hours during the 8-week course. The internship would provide your organization with a recruitment pipeline of potential health informatics specialists and assist with strategic informatics projects.  To schedule an informational session on site, please contact the Program Director of Health Informatics, Dr. Roberta Christopher via email rchrist6@ju.edu for more details.

HOW TO APPLY

The admission process for the MSHI program includes the use of a rubric.  The rubric categories include cumulative grade point average (CGPA), upper level coursework grade point average (GPA), content and writing style of the personal statement (essay), letters of recommendations, and professional experience related to coursework and degree.  
 
Admission decisions for the online program are within four days, if the applicant meets all admission criteria and all official documents are submitted.  Admission decisions for the ground cohort programs are communicated two weeks after the admission deadline. 
 
The committee consists of two full time faculty members, and one administrative member who is the BRCHS Online Learning Specialist and holds a MEd, EdS, and PhD with over 10 years’ experience in higher education.
