Emergency Nurse Practitioner

Jacksonville University's College of Health Sciences and Keigwin School of Nursing offers 1 of 7 programs in the United States to prepare Emergency Nurse Practitioners.  The Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) sub-specialization program prepares graduates to care for patients across the lifespan in emergent and urgent care settings.

Students may enter this program one of two ways:

  • Post-MSN certificate for Family Nurse Practitioners

  • MSN degree-seeking student taking the ENP sub-specialization in conjunction with the Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum

ENP courses are co-taught by Board Certified Emergency Physicians and expert nursing faculty.  Students complete clinical rotations with physicians and nurse practitioners in regional ED settings.   Graduates of the ENP sub-specialization program are eligible for specialty certification (ENP-BC) through the American Nurses' Credentialing Center (ANCC) after two years of full-time practice as an ENP.

Please look under Master of Science in Nursing for a complete description of the FNP/ENP program and the admissions, curriculum and contact information.
