The Dance Department at Jacksonville University is dedicated to providing excellent programs of study in dance with the infusion of a strong liberal arts education. Dance training includes ballet, modern and jazz dance techniques, creative compositional projects, historical and theoretical thinking, multi-performance opportunities and aesthetics taught by an outstanding faculty with both professional and academic credentials.

Guest Residencies and Master Classes are a strong part of the dance program allowing students to work with professional dance artists on a day-to-day basis. Past Guest Artists include: Urban Bush Women, H.T. Chen & Dancers, Edward Villella, Rennie Harris, Shapiro & Smith, Jacques D'Amboise, Dana Michaels, Andy Wong, Bill Evans, Lorry May, Jennifer Muller, and Twyla Tharp .

Jacksonville University Department of Dance is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA) and the Florida Dance Association (FDA).
