Thank you for your interest in Jacksonville University's Honors Program! Students selected for the Honors Program receive our largest academic scholarships. These scholarships are renewable for four years, provided you maintain eligibility. In addition, Honors students enjoy priority registration, support for research, and personal advising from the Honors faculty.
Selection to the Honors Program is competitive and requires a separate application.
Below is a summary of the nomination and application process for the Honors Competition.
1) The prospective student must submit their online application and official high school transcripts by December 1, 2015 if they would like to be considered for the Honors Program.
2) Admissions Officers will look at each individual that has submitted the above, and nominate students to apply by December 15, 2015. If a student is nominated to apply, they will receive an email requesting further documentation, including a graded essay, recommendation letters, official test scores, and a questionnaire to complete.
3) The above items must be received by January 15, 2016. The student will be asked to choose an interview time and to attend the mandatory Honors Competition on February 13, 2016.
4) After all interviews and the competition has been completed, the Honors Committee and Office of Admissions will look at each competitor before sending out award letters. The scholarships can be seen below.
Students that complete the above will be considered for the following scholarships:
William J. Porter Honors (full direct costs)
Presidential Honors (full-time tuition)
